Opening of the Jubilee in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles

In the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Archbishop José H. Gomez will celebrate the Rite of the Opening of the Jubilee Year on Sunday, December 29, 2024, the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, at the 10 a.m. Mass at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.  During this rite, the faithful will gather on the Cathedral Plaza to hear the word of God and the proclamation of the Jubilee Year, after which they will enter the cathedral in procession guided by a cross to be displayed in the cathedral sanctuary for veneration throughout the Jubilee Year; the cross to be displayed is the processional cross from the dedication of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.
